Taj Mahal
We chose the Taj Mahal for many interesting reasons. One of those
reasons is that it is one of the seven wonders of the world. The Taj Mahal is located on the southern bank of the Yamuna river in India. The Taj Mahal took twenty years to build with 20,000 people building it as well as some elephants. Stones were imported from as far as Turkey to build it. It was built to be a tomb for the Emperor's wife, Mumtaz Mahal. Now it is used as a “world heritage center” for Muslims. It is an important feature of the mural because it shows a lot about Asia’s history, and that the Emperor would go to extreme lengths for the people that he loved.
The Asian Mountains
There are many Asian mountains. Mount Everest is one of the most famous and the tallest mountain in the world. Only about 4,000 hundred people have climbed to the summit. Mountains represent improvement, permanence, immovability and serenity. Mountains can represent obstacles, but traveling through them symbolizes overcoming those obstacles. The youngest person to climb Mt. Everest was Jordan Romero, at the age of 13. That’s young!
